Xuan's 4th Story : About Jojakarta....

Hello people i just came back from Jogjakarta, Indonesia, around a week ago and today i will be writing bout the things i saw there and learnt there.
Firstly i went there because i was being selected on a school trip to learn more about mainly humanities. Humanities include subjects like history and geography and some other subjects. Geography is about earth and natural. The highlight of the trip is none other than Mount Merapi, the world's youngest and the most active volcano. You might be wondering, how can it be? It is so dangerous, but well we will be only at the foothill of the volcano looking at it. So ya, haha. Okay i think i better get to the topic if not i will link it to else where. Haha....
We went to quite a lot of places like, Water Kesteel, Borobudur, Kraton.... But the most unforgettable ones i guess would be trying to plant the rice crops and the highlight Mount Merapi.
The planting rice crops made me learn that planting rice crops may seems to be easy but it is not at all. All the work before you even plant the crops are so tiring. Before you plant the crops u nid to turn over the mud then after that u need to flatten the mud and than plant them, but all the process need a lot of hardwork. This made me learnt that evrey rice grain is very important, as if not for them, we would not have a bowl of rice infront of us. Also im appreciate for the farmers, for their willingness to work under the hot sun and soaking their legs for a long period of time. You might say that they maybe got no other choice but some of them can choose to leave but they continue so im very appreciate of it.
The trip to the foothill of Mount Merapi made me know that living in Singapore is a really a fortunate thing. Because the villagers or the people living there live there with a risk, a risk that can cause their life anytime. We interview a stall vendor as it is one of our tasks and this made me know more about the people about the Mount Merapi. Some of them refuse to leave there even they are capable of leaving there, because their home is there. Some of them move to a city already but move back because if they do not move back they might not even survive in the city. Although there is siren to inform them that the volcano might erupt or is showing signs of erupting, but it will be hassle for them to move here and there. Not saying that people living there are very unfortunate, because they can get near to a beauty and there are benefits there. Mount Merapi is definitely a beauty to us as a tourist, but to the people who live around Mount Merapi, it can be either a beast to them when it erupts or a beauty when it is there peacefully.
Overall this trip made me learnt quite a lot of things for myself.
